The African American Civil Rights Movement site has been created by undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Massachusetts History Club. Our objective is to give honor and recognition to America’s most influential civil rights movement and its leaders.
This site will allow you to understand the rich and complex events of the Civil Rights Movement of the 40s, 50s and 60s. We provide documented historical facts and in-depth information as well as a wide range of media such as illustrations of landmarks, historical events and videos to support research. We want to create a unique scholarly source and enhance the availability of information to promote excellence in learning.
We have collected and organized articles about the African American Civil Rights Movement and its place in American history to be displayed in this cultural memorabilia. We celebrate the contribution of African Americans to American History and embrace and promote intercultural competence.
